Enjoy Guest Room Stays in Private Homes
Room Sweet Room was started by homeowners that had just become "empty-nesters," and decided to down-size to a smaller home to make life a little easier and less expensive. However, when talking with friends contemplating similar life-changes, they discovered that most of their friends really wanted to stay in their large homes — basically because they loved the country life style and didn't want to give it up... they didn't want to move back to the hustle, bustle and congestion of a city or urban setting! But, they didn't quite know how to make it work.
The friends soon came up with the idea of creating a website where they could list their now empty, extra bedrooms as guest rooms for travelers visiting family & friends (who are, themselves, short of extra space and bedrooms) in their respective communities, as well as possibly renting to traveling nurses and other contract medical and business professionals who need to be able to find homey, comfortable and hassle-free short-term, inexpensive lodgings (Often, as it turns out, not an easy thing to find.).
With those basic thoughts in mind, they started to plan and implement their ideas. The Room Sweet Room website only lists guest rooms available in private, owner occupied homes, usually located in quiet rural country settings. Homeowners who list their guest bedrooms on RSR never rent their entire home to their guests, and are always on the premises. These are NOT party homes. Each homeowner is responsible for their own guest reservations and rentals, guest fees and payment types, and have their own specific sets of amenities, restrictions, and house rules (though we do provide generic house rules and other policy information on the RSR website that all homeowners have agreed to).
